On 9 March 2016, OSHMO UMP staff visited the Occupational Safety & Health Management Office or Pejabat Pengurusan Keselamatan & Kesihatan Pekerjaan (PPKKP) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). OSHMO UMP delegates had the opportunity to learn aspects of emergency management implemented at UPM. OSHMO UMP delegation was welcomed by Puan Nor Afida Miskam and Encik Mohammad Solehan Azmi
On 8 March 2016, OSHMO UMP staff visited Pusat Pengurusan Risiko, Kelestarian & Kesihatan Pekerjaan or Centre for Management of Risk, Occupational Sustainability & Health (ROSH) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The aim of the visit was to share views and experience in managing aspects of occupational safety and health among members of staff at the university. OSHMO delegation was received by Professor Dr. Amran Bin Ab. Majid, the Director of ROSH.
Training in the year 2016 began with Basic First Aid Training to train First Aiders appointed by respective responsibility centres or pusat tanggungjawab (PTJs). The training was conducted from 1st until 2nd of March, 2016. Participants were from various PTJs which had not had their own trained in-house first aiders.
On 24 April 2013, OSHMO and BLPK organized a course on 'ERGONOMICS AND MANUAL HANDLING IN THE WORKPLACE' held at Bilik Latihan Tun Teja 1. The course was attended by nearly 30 participants comprising UMP members of staff at various levels. The course was conducted by Associate Professor Dr. Shamsul Bahri Hj Mohd Tamrin from UPM. The course was packed with valuable and useful input which was shared with the participants by the trainer who had vast knowledge and experience in the field of ergonomics.
The course on ergonomics was well-received by UMP staff. As such, OSHMO and BLPK would continue to organize this course in the future.
On 16 June 2015, OSHMO organized the third Basic Fire Fighting Course for the year 2015 held at Dewan Tun Fatimah. Participation in this course was reserved for the faculty fire fighting members at UMP Gambang Campus. The course was conducted by Mr L. Chandran, a former assistant enforcement officer of the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia.
On 29 June 2012, two enforcement officers from the State of Pahang Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) visited Universiti Malaysia Pahang to perform an audit on the implementation of occupational safety and health management at UMP. A meeting was held between UMP and JKKP Pahang at the Meeting Room of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. The meeting was chaired by YH. Prof Dato’ Dr. Daing Mohd Nasir Bin Daing Ibrahim.
