8-9 August 2016: OSHMO organized HIRARC Course 2016 series in order to prepare for the development of the OSH Management System. This course was customized for members of staff developing the OSHMS at their respective PTJs. The course was held at Tun Teja Training Room in UMP Gambang Campus.

On 3 August 2016, OSHMO organized intervention course OSH series 2 2016 in line with the OSHMO intervention campaign. The course was conducted specially for new members of staff as well as members of staff who had no exposure to aspects of occupational safety and health. Training was held at Tun Teja Training Room in UMP Gambang Campus.

On 26 May 2016, OSHMO held a course on ergonomics specially conducted for UMP members of staff who spend most of their time using the computer. Various kinds of problems related to ergonomics may occur if these problems are not properly handled. The course was conducted by Dr Nasrul.

On 9 June 2016, UMP which was represented by OSHMO and OSH FTECH Program lecturer held initial discussions with the school administration of SM Sains Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SEMSAS) regarding activities for the planned OSH in School Program, which would be held in August 2016.

On 26 May 2016, members of the Committee on Chemical Substances and Scheduled Wastes held a visit and performed an inspection on chemical substances store as well as scheduled wastes. This activity was led by Mr Mohd Marzuki Bin Mohamed, Chair of the Committee.

On 16 May 2016, OSHMO organized a customized course on PPE for handling chemical substances in the laboratory. This course was attended by laboratory staff from all faculties and COE with laboratory facilities.

UMP Kampus Gambang: The UMP Recycle & Compose Centre or Pusat Kitar Semula & Kompos has been established under the EcoGreen (Waste) cluster initiative to ensure solid wastes generated by the University can be disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner such as by using the recycling method. The centre began its operation in March 2016 and collected nearly 4 tonnes of recyclable materials within 3 three months.

UMP Gambang Campus, 21 May 2016: Occupational Safety and Health Management Office (OSHMO) UMP organized the first of series of Induction Course for Contractors or Kursus Induksi Pengurusan Kontraktor (KesKo) Program held at Dewan Tun Fatimah, UMP Gambang Campus. The program was made compulsory for all contractors/vendors registered with UMP before they could begin their work as contracted. On this day, a total of 50 contractors/vendors providing various services successfully attended the course. The contractors/vendors were exposed to basic knowledge on occupational safety and heatlth to ensure safe and health work culture can be implemented. This program would be organized from time to time in order to ensure the participation of all registered contractors/vendors.
